The Flashmob tour begins
Hi folks, I hope you’re all well and enjoying the bit of sunshine we’re having here in the UK. Last Wednesday Mrs.T and I went to The Lowery Theatre in Manchester to see Flashmob. This was the first Flashmob show outside of the west end of London and the beginning of the UK tour.
For the first time in a good while, I was pretty excited to be going out for the evening. I’d never seen Nicolette Whitley and Renako McDonald of Alleviate, perform live other than on our photo shoot where we created images for their marketing. It’s very cool to see one of those images used on the promotional poster for Flashmob, this is the first time I’ve seen it out in the big wide world.
Alleviate was only part of the show, other cast members were Kevin Clifton and Karen Hauer from BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing, Flawless, from Britain’s Got Talent and Brosena from Sky 1, Got To Dance. It was a fabulous show with amazing performances from everyone.
There was another surprise for me during the show. I’d forgotten that Nicolette had asked me if I could supply one of my images to make an avatar for her as part of the graphics in the show. During the show, some of the narrative is on a screen at the back of the stage. This is where that image was shown, it’s pretty cool feeling to know some of your work is part of the show and a couple of thousand people will see it.
I’ll be joining up with Alleviate when they arrive in Stoke on the Flashmob Tour, where I’ll capture some cool back stage shots. The story behind the performance has always fascinated me and this was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. If you get a chance to see the show, you won’t be disappointed, they are touring all over the UK until August 2nd. Here’s a taster in their trailer…
That’s all for now, thanks for stopping by.
