Down in Clapham at The Delicatessen by Robin Gill
How fortunate am I. Back in London, invited by Robin Gill and his team to shoot the first images for The Delicatessen and update images for The Dairy and The Manor.
The Delicatessen is right next door to The Dairy, opposite Clapham Common. Full of beautiful fresh produce, meats, cheeses, fresh bread and sandwiches to die for. Two of the biggest magnets for me are the Rooftop honey, straight from Robins beehives in the rooftop garden above The Dairy, and the bone marrow butter. Either of which you’ll have had a chance to taste if you’ve eaten at The Dairy.
It’s the place you’d go to sit and watch the world go by, have a lovely coffee and maybe a pastry and sandwich. Being the piggy that I am, I’d then stroll the vast inches next door. Sit down once again and order something from The Dairy dessert menu. It’s just rude not to.
The beautiful tiled entrance hints at the history of the building and where The Dairy got it’s name. It’s a lovely place to pop in, pick up some lunchtime treats and head off for a Clapham Common Picnic. I can’t figure out if I’m fortunate I live almost 200 miles away or not. I’d be there every day. There’s such a warm and friendly vibe to each business Robin Gill creates, you just want to be there.
As usual I was shooting a mixture of food, interiors and, in this case, a bit of lifestyle to capture the feeling of sitting out in the sun, enjoying a bountiful lunch.
This was just the start to my day in Clapham. Coming up next are some of the dishes from the new menu at The Dairy. Seasonal changes to the menu are all part of being The Dairy and keeping a website and social media humming with new, fresh dishes is so important to keep the punters coming.
Thanks for stopping in, see you very shortly.
