12 Days Of Christmas, Day 3

Welcome back to my 12 Days of looking back on 2018 and today I’m revisiting the Whitchurch restaurant, Docket No.33.

Fine Dining Comes To Whitchurch

A beautiful new bistro restaurant opened in Whitchurch, Shropshire early in the year. Owned and run by Stuart and Francis Collins, who had spent the last few years living and working in the Middle East. They’ve both been involved in the hospitality industry for many years.

It’s a beautiful restaurant with lovely stone floors with some unique features incorporated from local historic buildings. The menu is modern British, supplied by many local food businesses. The sourcing of incredible local produce is key to the delicious menu.

Food Photography Pour Shots

I’m a bit undecided on the pour shot. Sometimes I feel it’s been done to death and other days it just looks nice. I think I like to go for a different angle where possible, taking a traditional idea and mixing it up a bit.

Solid Foundations

Stuart Collins was one of Mrs T’s head chefs during her time in commercial kitchens and the core team are still good friends today. Such is the way of the very small world of the restaurant industry. These influences were all part of who she is today as a chef and what our food blog, Salted Mint, is built upon.

If you’ve never paid the blog a visit, please do, it’s full of delicious recipes. Most take no more than 30 minutes from start to finish, we take you step by step through the process and they’re guaranteed to be delicious.

One Light

I kept things simple for the lighting as usual as I tend to do for most of my restaurant food photography location shoots.

Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you tomorrow for day 4 of my 12 Days Of Christmas. Please share any of my posts which you enjoy on your social media, it’s very much appreciated.
